Donald M. Kennedy

Don was one of the founding members of Kennedy Lillis Schmidt & English. He joined Atlantic Mutual Insurance Company in 1962 in the Marine Claims Department. In 1967, he was hired by the maritime and insurance firm of Kelly Donovan Robinson & Maloof, which became Donovan Donovan Maloof & Walsh in 1969.

In 1977, the firm was renamed Donovan Maloof Walsh & Kennedy.

In 1986, Don and Jack formed Kennedy & Lillis.

In 1994, Don became Special Counsel to the Firm.

Throughout Don’s practice, he traveled the world on his cases many of which are reported. Throughout his practice he was a leading maritime attorney, especially in the areas of marine insurance and cargo subrogation.

Admitted to the bar: 1960, New York. Education: Queens College (B.A., 1954); Brooklyn Law School (LL.B., 1959).
